"The Big Bang Theory" kicks off on Thursdays for CBS this fall and the cast and crew headed to this year's Comic-Con to offer a sneak preview of the new season and to answer some questions from their growing fan base.
The panel began with the shows theme song being sung by the audience and the Bare Naked Ladies who made a surprise appearance. That was then followed by a Q & A moderated by the show's favorite guest star Wil Wheaton and attended by cast members Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Jim Parsons, Kunal Nayyar along with the show's producers Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady.
Highlights from the discussion:
Each of the group was asked what brings out the inner geek in them: Kunal who plays Raj said 'Badminton', Simon, who plays Howard, answered "Accordian solos," Kaley, who plays Penny, got a round of applause for her answer, "The Bare Naked Ladies," Jim, who play Shledon, said he likes listening to talk radio, and Johnny, who plays Leonard said that what he geeks about is working and "True Blood."
When asked about how he relates to his character Leonard, Johnny said, "The relationship is frustrating. It's a "grass is always greener" kind of a feeling. He suffers a lot."
When asked about playing a character so unlike himself, (Parsons plays the quirky socially challenged Dr. Sheldon Cooper), the twice Emmy nominated actor said, "It's fulfilling because there's so much to do. And surprisingly easy because of the writing. It's right there."
Since the show is about a bunch of guys who would be Comic-Con attendees, naturally the producers were asked if there would ever be a Comic-Con episode. "It would be difficult since "Big Bang" is a four camera show," Bill Purdy said.
After the panel, the cast headed to the Warner Bros. booth on the convention floor for a signing.
